Since spring 2016, small components have been welded at Thoclatec using two new QIROX QR-CC-4.1 compact cells from CLOOS. The robot cells each have a 2-station workpiece positioner with vertical changeover and vertical rotary movement. While one station is welding, the other can be reloaded. This speeds up the entire process enormously. All robot and positioning axes work together fully synchronized. With a clamping length of up to 1,200 mm and a maximum load capacity of 250 kg per side, a wide range of workpieces can be processed on both systems. In addition to a faster process, the robots now achieve precisely reproducible welding results, which was previously not possible with manual welding. The compact cells are also characterized by maximum production flexibility.
